TEACHER - Tiny Tots, Junior School, RAD Classical Ballet

Jess started dancing at age 3, training in RAD Classical Ballet at Natasha Noble International Dance Academy. At age 10, Jess commenced at Hunter School of the Performing Arts. One year later she began training in Ballet, Jazz and Contemporary at Marie Walton-Mahon Dance Academy. Here she continued her RAD Classical training under the guidance of Marie Walton-Mahon and Elise Frawley, completing all RAD Classical Examinations up until Advanced 2 with distinctions. 

In her last year at HSPA, Jess was a part of the ABC’s TV Series ‘Dance Academy’. During her time with the series, she gained experience in film, acting and dance performance and was lucky to work with many professional choreographers.

In 2013 Jess commenced the full time program at the National College of Dance, focusing on Ballet, Contemporary and Jazz. During her time at the College she was trained in Ballet by Alfred Taahi (former principle of Sydney Dance Company). She was trained in Contemporary and Jazz by Debbie Linnert. By 2014 Jess had Completed her Certificate IV and Diploma in Dance-Elite Performance, graduating as DUX of her Class.

In her graduating year at NCD, Jess auditioned and was offered a dancing role at Tokyo Disneyland. In January 2015 Jess moved to Tokyo, Japan where she was a dancer in the show ‘One Man’s Dream II, the Magic Lives On.’ performing many roles including; Snow White and Wendy from Peter Pan. These roles provided added experience in aerial work and Character acting.

In May 2016 Jess moved back home to Newcastle where she found a passion for teaching dance. Teaching children of all ages Ballet, Contemporary and Jazz.

During her first year back home, Jess completed her Cert III and IV in Fitness and became a qualified personal trainer while continuing dance teaching. The knowledge gained as a Personal Trainer provided even greater understanding of the body’s anatomy and safe and effective training techniques.

Jess brings passion to her teaching and is genuinely interested in her students, she really loves what she does! Teaching for over 4 years she understands the importance of building the foundations and techniques of a dancer.  She is a supportive teacher who creates a fun environment and has great rapport with all students.
